provided by Bruce Cleaver of The Old Rectory, Thurlbear during 2001. The Photograph also appears in Mrs RA Sixsmiths "Staple Fitzpaine and the Forest of Neroche" 1957. This publication (facing p.42) indicates "Photo by EKG Sixsmith". "Stuckey's Cottage, Bickenhall, probably built in the XV11th century". The collection of b/w negatives is thought to contain some of the original images that Mrs Sixsmith assembled in preparation for her publication. alanprime The photograph probably shows the original two-bedroomed thatched cottage built about 1640. |
