| NOTES FROM NEROCHE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING ON 10th January
2002
The Parish Council was pleased to welcome Mr David Greig, the Parish
Liaison Officer for Taunton Deane Borough Council who was on hand to
advise in relation to the new Code of Conduct which all councillors
are going to be required to adopt this year.
Road traffic issues as usual occupied much of the Council’s time
including road strengthening at South Hill Bridge and replacement of
the mirror at the Orchard Portman junction. The council also agreed to
support a request from the equestrian centre at Netherclay for horse
warning signs to be placed on the Thurlbear straight. The
Council resolved to adopt the new model Code of Conduct, which affects
all councillors throughout the country. Individual councillors will
now have to complete a register of interests some of which were
considered to be fairly intrusive. However, any councillor who does
not wish to abide by the code will have to resign within two months of
the code being adopted in May. The Parish Clerk Mrs Y Welch can
provide more information to those interested.
The next meeting of the council will be at 7.45pm on Thursday 14th
March.
