A tribute to Ray Williams - Army |
![]() |
Ray Williams was born during the First World War, and apart from the first
two weeks, served in the Army for the duration of the Second World War. He started in the
King's (Liverpool) regiment; his initial training was done at Knotty Ash Village Hall, before Ken Dodd
took over! Having served in the U.K. he was Commissioned in the Cheshire Regt and posted to the First Battalion, serving
with them in Europe until being demobilised in March 1946. Meeting Len Salter when he moved to Stoke St. Mary in 1975 they found they had been quite close to each other during the advance into Germany. It's a small world. Author Ray Williams - March 2004 |
