Stained Glass Windows - St. Michael, Orchard Portman

Description The School window memorial in the Bapistry
of St Michael's Orchard Portman, commemorates
Orchard Portman House School, established in
1945 and upon retirement of its Headmaster
Mr R C H Walker, closed in 1976. The school
was independently run and educated local and
overseas children to A Level standard.
The School Window memorial is unique in that
it is the only one of its type installed in
a Somerset church and according to current
research, probably in the British Isles.
The Window Memorial was installed on
12th June 1988 by St. Michael's Church
Committee and paid for by donations from
ex-pupils and staff.
