Stoke St Mary Parish Council Minutes.
27th February 2001.

The meeting held on the 7th February 2001 was well supported by the parish. The future of the slide in the play area was discussed and the Chairman is obtaining quotes for upgrading the equipment as an alternative to a new one - the price for this already being in hand. TDBC have offered an 85% grant towards the cost of a new slide only. No decision was made pending an advisory visit from TDBC parks department.
The planning application in respect of Woodview's new driveway was recommended or approval subject to the normal conditions but with added landscaping.
The Woodland Trust have forwarded an update, stating that the are pleased with Henlade Wood's progress and that they are addressing the litter problem and will be replacing a seat on the vantage point in the neat future.
Following popularity and publicity a village web site had been set up by Alan Prime

and is eligible for a maximum £200 grant which has been applied for. It can be accessed via the public library by those who are interested and have no other means of access to the site.
The chairman thanked both Mr Richard Westlake and Mr Derek Parsons on their flood prevention actions over the past weeks of heavy rain. Mr Parsons is currently liasing with SCC highways or various simple improvements to be made. The bridle path repairs are scheduled to begin as soon as the weather becomes suitable for excavating.
The Good Friday Parish Walk on Friday 13th April will lease the Village Hall at 2.30pm and Dennis and Betty Parsons will be providing refreshments on the return.
The next meeting will be The Annual Parish Council Meeting and the Annual Parish Meeting and is arranged for Wednesday May 16th in the Village Hall.
