The Parish Council Meeting was held in the Chapel at 7.30pm
PRESENT:
Mr M. Baddeley, in the chair, Mr D. Parsons, Mr S. Burgess, Mr M Newport
Mr R. Pearse & Mr G.Salter.
IN ATTENDANCE:
Mrs M Pearse, Parish Clerk and 10 members of the parish.
Councillor N Clark arrived at 8.35pm as promised but the meeting was closed.

2005/09 THE MINUTES:
Having been circulated were taken as read and signed as correct by the chairman. Proposed by Mr D Parsons. Seconded by Mr S Burgess.

PUBLIC QUESTION TIME:
Loud complaints about the roadside trimming incident cited as near fatal accident along Broughton Lane.
- Clerk requested to write to SCC and complain on behalf of PC.
The cooking smell at the Half Moon was raised again but as now a matter between the enforcement officer and the brewery. We have to wait and see.
The protective large stones by the Chapel that were removed for the road works have not yet been returned as promised.
2005/24 MATTERS ARISING:
The Millennium stone is valued at £3000 for insurance purposes.
2005/25 BOUNDARY COMMITTEE - electoral review:
Neroche Ward lost West Hatch, now only 7 parishes - Bickenhall, Orchard Portman, Staple Fitzpaine, Curland, Corfe, Stoke St. Mary & Hatch Beauchamp. Still thought
too big an area for one Councillor to represent. Clerk to write. Swap Hatch Beauchamp with West Hatch.
2005/26 ANNUAL MEETING OF PARISH COUNCILS with TDBC:
Mr S Burgess & Mr M Newport attended and reported that some of the content was interesting but most they had heard it all before.
A special Gypsy legal group is now established, hopefully to prevent a repeat of the North Curry invasion in Oxen Lane
and everyone was urged to padlock their gates as breaking in to gain access is criminal damage.
2005/27 CORRESPONDENCE:
1. SCC surface dressing to take place Stoke Road & Haydon Road at the beginning of July. The Clerk had 'phoned several times re the holes by Greenway Farm, finally suggesting that
TV cameras might be interested along with prompting by Councillor Clark. These were badly filled in on Friday pm.
2. Avon & Som Con. Info re crime prevention through environmental design.
3. TD Crime & Disorder Partnership report now available, copies by request only.
4. SCC race Equality - poster in notice board, more publicity available if wanted.
5. Defra Clean Neighbourhood & Environment Act 2005.
Details: PC's are now able to issue fixed penalty notices for litter, graffiti, fly-posting
and dog offences.
6. Somerset Gateway (Community information partnership) need info - Clerk to fill in.
7. Community Green Space - newsletter.
2005/28 PLANNING APPLICATIONS:
37 2005 00 Dairy House Farm - building to store & restore historic cars - PC determination.
37 2005 00 Red Roofs - Single storey extension - PC determination.
Meeting to be arranged.
2005/29 PLANNING DECISIONS:
37 2005 005 Dairy House Farm - roof etc, granted with conditions.
37 2005 006 LB Stoke House - internal alterations, granted with conditions.
Briefing session for PC's two reps - decide at meeting (As above).
2005/30 FINANCE:
Balance at Bank 29thh June 2005 £1212.52.
Accounts to pay: Parsons £20.50; Moore Stephens (a/c) £176.25.
Proposed Mr G Salter. Seconded Mr S Burgess.
Receipt received for Burial ground grant.
Claim for burial, footpath & play area grant to TDBC.
2005/31 OTHER VILLAGE MATTERS:
Shooting had been heard in Stoke Woods, dead deer found. NO permission has been granted for
shooting, report to police.
The Clerk and Mrs Fallance attended a meeting concerning footpaths & rights of way. A claim form was obtained should any ideas materialise.
The next meeting was arranged for Wednesday 14th September 2005.
There being no further business the chairman closed the meeting at 8.35pm.
