2005/35 HIGHWAYS:
A reply received from SCC, Mr D Peake (highways service manager). Broughton Lane a 'class D' road has to wait 'till
last, parish concerns completely ignored, only quoted birds and flowers being important. Chairman already
invited Mr Peake to November meeting, as yet no reply. Parishioners very upset that their concerns warrant such little notice.
£100 was offered to pay for every villager to send a personal letter of complaint to SCC.
It was suggested that a 'letter of complaint' be sent by Tim Carroll in the Environment Committee regarding
the hedge / verge trimming and the wasted markings that appear round potholes, fade away, and are redone before
some of the holes get filled.
It was also suggested that a Complaint to the Parrett Catchment Project concerning the need for the drainage to be corrected before a disaster occurs.
