ETHEL and BILL BOARD

In February 2001, Ethel and Bill shared with Alan Prime in a St. Mary's church interview that she was born in 1912 at Church Farm, Thurlbear and started
at Thurlbear School in 1917 aged 5.
Bill, born in 1908, lived at Cherry Grove, Stoke St. Mary when he met Ethel circa 1928, when they were both choir members and bell-ringers at St. Thomas Church, Thurlbear. At this time  Ethel lived at Gadsbridge Cottages, a mile down the road. The couple were married at Thurlbear Church in 1933.
They both were committed Christians and devoted to their beloved St. Thomas.

Bill Board 1908-2002 was a man of great humility and is much missed in the village community.
