MEETING REPORT 11th September 2002

The Church Committee met in the church on 11th September. A quote for the major redecoration of the church interior was accepted, and work will begin shortly. It is likely to last fr up to six weeks. Concerns have been expresed about the condition of some of the older gravestones in the churchyard. A churchyard survey will now be undertaken and presented to the next meeting detailing the problems and proposing solutions.

There have been some generous donations to the fund for adding two further Reytiens windows to the church (see separate repoer), and it was agreed that formal faculty permission should now be sought.

The new ecclesiastical parish of Stoke St. Mary with Thurlbear is due to come into existence at the begining of November. A new PCC will then have to be created and the election of the churchwardens ratified.

plans for the Harvest Supper and the Christmas Bazaar were dicussed, and it was agreed to hold a village concert at the end of November.
