The villages of
Stoke St. Mary, Thurlbear and Orchard Portman, Somerset, England.

Description
..the Portman family, in a gesture of striking magnanimity gave the parish church a new chalice and cover after the Civil War, engraved with the Portman fleur-de-lis and bearing the date-letter for 1646. That gift, and the almshouses which Sir William founded at Staple Fitzpaine in 1643 are some memorial to the baronet and his family in the years of their greatest trouble..
